Week #4 Selections

After a horrible week, I look to redeem myself and get back to the stellar record I had earlier in season. I decided to switch it up this week and wait for the later lines. This way I have more information to base my decisions on. So here they are:

NFL: Saints @ Panthers -7 ... Take the Panthers at -7 LOSS

With the return of Steve Smith in the lineup, Carolina will finally have their best team out on the field this week. They should be good to win by a TD or 2 versus this New Orleans team that is playing over their heads.

NFL: Vikings @ Bills -1... Take the Bills at -1 WIN

The Vikings have been struggling all year at putting the ball in the end-zone. Don't think that this trend will change at all this week because the Bills D have been impressive thus far. Willis McGahee is finally starting to look like he did a couple seasons ago and should be good for a solid 100 yards against this Minnesota defense.

Over/Under: Take the Over 33 in the Oakland/Cleveland game WIN

These teams will be throwing the ball on all game long come Sunday. Reason being is that the Browns passing game is the only thing going for them, and, the Raiders pass D is non existent. I just think the total is set way too low for this game.

College Pick of the Week: Rutgers -3.5 @ South Florida... Take Rutgers at -3.5 LOSS

Rutgers used to be the laughing stock of DivI Football but with an undefeated record this year, they look more like contenders. The key to Rutgers leading the Big East Conference is their potent running game led by RB Raymell Rice. This should be a high scoring game and Rutgers won't have a problem covering the spread.

Prime Time Game: Take the under 34.5 in the Browns/Seahawks game LOSS

The Bears D will stop the potent Seahawks offense Sunday night. Even if Alexander does play, he will not be at 100% and this Chicago team will take full advantage of this. With the wind playing a big factor, both QB's will have trouble airing it out. Look for a hard fought defensive battle...

Unless I have a poor weekend, I will not be touching the Monday Nighter again this week. I will post my update record come Tuesday. Until then... Break your Bookie and Squish the Fish!

Monday Night Results
Previous MNF Record (1-0)

Monday Night Football: Over 43 in the Falcons-Saints game. LOSS

Do you believe it??? This bad bad pick has brought my weekly record to a terrible 1-5. I seriously have not had this terrible a week in 3 seasons.

MNF Record is now (1-1)
Overall Record is now (8-9)

My run of winning weeks has come to end but I will be looking a re-starting this trend next week. I will be posting my Week #4 selections by Friday. Until then... Break your Bookie and Squish the Fish!!!

Week #3 Results
Previous Record (7-4)

NFL: Jets @ Bills -5.5... Take my beloved Bills at -5.5 LOSS
NFL: Packers @ Lions -3... Take the Lions at -3 LOSS
Over/Under: Take the OVER 45 in the Giants-Seahawks game WIN
College Pick of the Week: Take Notre Dame at -3.5 LOSS
Prime Time Game: Broncos @ Pats -5... Take the Pats at -5 LOSS

Record is now (8-8)

Well well well... My first losing week of the Season... and WOW was it ever bad. I guess I know why my mentor Dan Gordon tells us not to pick favorites until after week 4. Oh well... this is a learning process and one hell of an expensive learning curve for me this weekend. Now I have to get my record back to the .500 mark. Here is my pick for the Monday Nighter Tonight:

Monday Night Football: Take the Over 43 in the Falcons-Saints game.

This should be a fun game to watch. The first installment of Bush vs. Vick. Who will get more yards today? I don't know but both guys should rack them up and the points will follow. Over it is. I'll be posting my results tomorrow. Until then... Break your Bookie and Squish the Fish!!!

Week #2 Results
Previous Record (4-2)

NFL: Bills @ Phins -7... Take my beloved Bills at +7 WIN
NFL: Panthers @ Vikings PK... Take the Panthers at EV LOSS
Over/Under: Take the Under 37 in the Jets-Pats game LOSS
College Pick of the Week: Take Wisconsin at -13.5 vs. S. D. State WIN
Prime Time Game: Redskins @ Cowboys -6... Take the 'Boys at -6 WIN

Record is now (7-4)

So far so good. My record is still above the .600 mark and I'm still making money in my major pool. Again, I would like to reitterate the fact that the Monday Nighter tonight is too unpredictable. Stay away from the spread, stay away from the O/U. We have no idea how Big Ben will perform. Nonetheless... Enjoy the Game!!!

Week #3 Selections

Hey everyone! I already made my picks for week 3 and week 2 is not even over yet. I simply could not resist some of these off sided opening lines. I'm pretty confident that the lines on my picks will move in my favor throughout the week, thus opening the possibility of catching a middle. Now that we are 2 weeks into the season, I have gained valuable information on the teams and I will no longer shy away from taking heavy favorites. So without further ado...

NFL: Jets @ Bills -5.5... Take my beloved Bills at -5.5

Did you see how the Bills D handled the Phins today? They rushed the QB play after play and sacked Culpepper 7 times! Better yet, their run Defense was phenomenal by holding Ronnie Brown to only 70 yards on the ground. With Takeo returning to the lineup, you can expect the same results next week versus the Jets. Since the Jets have a poor running game, the Bills will be able to address pass coverage issues over the course of the week. This will be the Bills home opener and you can expect the crazy fans at the Ralph to be a factor. FYI: I will be there... Go Bills!!!

NFL: Packers @ Lions -3... Take the Lions at -3

Sorry Packer fans but your team doesn't look too good this year. Pretty sad because we all want to see Favre go out in style. His counterpart, Kitna, will take control of the ball game at home. He should walk all over the weak Green Bay secondary. Look for deep passes and many Touchdowns coming from the Lions.

Over/Under: Take the OVER 45 in the Giants-Seahawks game

Talk about Offense here. Both these team have many options on their side of the ball. This game will have 2 of the top 5 running backs in the game, excellent Q.B.'s and questionable defences. You put all that together and it gives you a very high scoring game. Go O!

College Pick of the Week: Take Notre Dame at -3.5

After a tough loss at home this week against their rival Michigan, the Irish will bounce back as they always do. I can't see this team losing back to back games. In fact, I can't see them losing a single other game this season. The 3.5 point spread will be covered easily by this strong Notre Dame Team... Go Irish!

Prime Time Game: Broncos @ Pats -5... Take the Pats at -5

As much as I would love to see the Patriots lose this game, I just can't see it happening. This Denver team will have a lot of problems running the ball at New England. Without a clear cut #1 running back, I think the Broncos will struggle all season to put points up on the board. This is somewhat strange since this has never been a problem for Denver. On the other hand, the Patriots only get better as the season goes on. Definitively a sign of experience and patience...

Tomorrow morning I will be updating my results from the week. Until then... Break your Bookie and Squish the Fish!

Week #2 Selections
Current Record (4-2)

Don't you guys just love this time of the week? It's time for another set of picks. This week I feel pretty confident since I got some information out of least week's team performances.

NFL: Bills @ Phins -7... Take my beloved Bills at +7

I mean, who's kidding who here? The Bills have owned the lowly Dolphins for the past 2 years by going 3 and 1 and a perfect 4 and 0 Against the Spread... and that's not about to change. After Dante's horrible game last week, his confidence is shot and I can't imagine the Fish beating the speedy Bills, let alone covering a "not so well thought-out" spread of 7 points. And again I go with a dog. Go BILLS!

NFL: Panthers @ Vikings PK... Take the Panthers at EV

My reasoning here is that I just don't think Brad Johnson is for real. Not only that, but I just can't imagine my SuperBowl favorites at the starting of training camp start the season off 0-2. Carolina is too strong a team for that, and with an extra 3 points in my favor as compared to the opening line, I just can't resist...

Over/Under: Take the Under 37 in the Jets-Pats game.

These 2 strong defenses sides will show up this Sunday. On top of that, there is a history of low scoring when these two AFC East Rivals face each other. Just look at their last 5 meetings where 4 of them went under the total. This game should be a sleeper as the teams will be battling for field position all afternoon long.

College Pick of the Week: Take Wisconsin at -13.5 vs. San Diego State

Easy pickings here; the Badgers have started the season off with 2 impressive wins. They have a whole a lotta fire power on offense and they should easily beat a weak San Diego club by 2 or 3 TD's.

Prime Time Game: Redskins @ Cowboys -6... Take the 'Boys at -6

With T.O. making his debut at home as a Cowboy, the crowd will be loud and we all know T.O. will respond. Again, I hate to take heavy favorites early in the season, but after watching the Skins on Prime Time last week, I just don't think they can match the intensity the Cowboys will be bringing.

Well that's all I got for this weekend. I don't think I'll be touching the Monday Nighter this week but if anything comes up, you'll be the first to know. Until then... Break your Bookie and Squish the Fish!

Another W On The Board!!!
MNF Record (1-0)
Overall Record (4-2)

SAN DIEGO @ OAKLAND:
Take San Diego @ -3 WIN

You heard me right. I just got another one of my picks in. I felt pretty confident about this game. Actually, I feel really confident about every game I wager on week in, week out. That's the reason why I rarely make more than 6 selections per week.

Well the first week of the season is over and done with and I am walking away from with a solid win percentage of .667. I hope to keep up the pace since the games are supposed to get easier from here. As October approaches, I will explain to you how I use power rankings based on the first four games of the season to make my weekly picks.

But for now, I'm gonna have to stick with my guns and pick some home dogs by Friday. Until then... Break your Bookie and Squish the Fish!!!

Monday Night Pick #1
Current MNF Record (0-0)

SAN DIEGO @ OAKLAND: Take San Diego @ -3

We all know that that LT will walk all over this young, inexperienced Defense. The Black Hole will be conquered tonight as the Chargers will march out on top and easily cover the spread. To add to this, the Chargers have won the past 5 meetings versus the Raiders by an average of 26 points.

I know I like to take dogs, especially at home early in the season, but having said that, there are exceptions to every rule... Take my advice and take the Chargers @ -3!

Enjoy the games tonight!!!

Week #1 Results
Current Record (0-0)

Here our the results for Week # 1:

NFL: Take Dallas at +2.5 LOSS
NFL: Take Buffalo at +10 WIN
Over/Under: Take the Under 42.5 in the San Fransisco-Arizona game LOSS
College Pick of the Week: Take Akron at +9.5 WIN
Prime Time Game: Indy -3 WIN

This is not a bad start at all. If I could go 3-2 all year long I would reach my goal of .600. The only regret I have this week is not selecting Pitts @-7.5 in College Football. Aside from that, I am quite content with these picks since it has also won me a couple of bucks in my bigger pool . I am actually the Commissioner of Pools4Pimps and you can view these results at http://www.pools4pimps.zoomshare.com/ .

Record is now (3-2) .600

I will be posting my Monday Night Pick shortly and my week #2 selections by Friday....maybe earlier if I can catch an offsided line. Until then... Break your Bookie and Squish the Fish!

Week #1 Selections
Current Record (0-0)

Here our my selections for Week # 1:

NFL: Take Dallas at +2.5
NFL: Take Buffalo at +10
Over/Under: Take the Under 42.5 in the San Fransisco-Arizona game
College Pick of the Week: Take Akron at +9.5
Prime Time Game: Indy -3

Forgive me for the lack of support on why I made these selections. I'm pretty hungover right now and simply don't have the energy to put my thoughts in words. Nonetheless, I promise you that next week's selections will come with a brief explanation on why I made each picks. But for now, you'll just have to trust me.

On Tuesday, I will post my results from the picks above. Until then...
